Italy-based Novamarine – a manufacturer of rigid-hulled inflatable boats (RHIBs) – has acquired the Italian boatbuilder Tornado Yachts.

The Tornado Yachts brand, established in 1968, has a long association with offshore competition, including the Venice-Monte Carlo race, which was won by Adriano Panatta using one of its vessels.

Following the agreement, Novamarine will carry out all production of Tornado Yachts models at its shipyards in Su Arrasolu, Olbia. This includes both new builds and the restyling of historic models, including the Tornado 38.

“We are very pleased with the acquisition of the Tornado Yachts brand, which represents a strategic opportunity for Novamarine to expand its customer base and enter a new market segment, while remaining faithful to the company’s historic positioning,” says Francesco Pirro, president and CEO of Novamarine.

“In particular, thanks to the acquisition of this brand, we will have the opportunity to produce high-performance boats, which will allow us to expand our offering. We would like to thank Daniele Parisi, CEO of Tornado Yachts, with whom we share a forward-looking vision focused on innovation.”

Daniele Parisi, CEO of Tornado Yachts, adds: “I am delighted to see the legacy of Tornado Yachts continue to sail with Novamarine. It is a guarantee that our brand will continue to live on, reaching new horizons.”
