Demre Marina in Türkiye opens

Demre Marina has officially opened in Türkiye, providing 700 berths in the Antalya region.

The opening ceremony included the minister of transport and infrastructure Abdülkadir Uraloğlu and minister of culture and tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.

“I was proud to break ground on the Antalya-Alanya Highway, which will connect Antalya and Alanya with the golden roads of civilisation,” minister Uraloğlu said at the opening. “Now, I am delighted to be at the opening ceremony of the Demre Marina, a unique tourism and maritime project that will breathe new life into the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean in Demre, the pearl of Antalya, where history and nature embrace.”

Contributing to Türkiye’s growing marine network, the facility is operated by Setur Marinas. It’s equipped with a 160-ton travel lift, maintenance workshops and other amenities. Makyol İnşaat completed the marina build in one and a half years.

The ministry of transport and infrastructure is said to be strengthening Antalya’s tourism offering, with a marked focus on the superyacht and yachting communities. Türkiye has expanded its maritime infrastructure significantly, growing from around 40 marinas in 2002 to 64 fully operational facilities.
