Marine technology manufacturer Dometic has officially launched its new European distribution hub in Forlì, Italy.
Located along one of the country’s main north-south motorway corridors, less than an hour from Bologna and three hours from Milan, the new facility offers centralised access to key European markets and proximity to major OEMs.
The manufacturer introduced its first gyrostabiliser, the DG3, designed for boats between 35ft and 41ft earlier this year. Dometic also announced a global restructure in 2024 but the new European distribution hub further supports Dometic’s existing presence in Milan and continues to build up the firm’s global footprint.
The site was inaugurated during a recent ceremony led by Dometic Group president and CEO, Juan Vargues and Dometic marine segment president, Eric Fetchko. The opening follows a complete refurbishment of the location after severe flooding in 2023.
“Our goal is to bring Dometic closer to customers both physically and operationally. With Forlì, we’re not only rebuilding a site but we’re also building future readiness and resilience for our Marine business in Europe,” says Vargues.
Initially, the Forlì facility will handle the Sierra range of marine spare parts, with components sourced from Dometic’s Litchfield site and international vendors. Plans are already in motion to expand the range of product categories supported by the new site.
Fetchko comments: “This new facility reinforces our commitment to the European marine industry. Forlì gives us a highly strategic location offering centralised access to key markets and close to key OEMs. It’s a powerful step in building a more responsive, customer-focused supply chain.”
Having been with Dometic for more than 39 years, Eric Fetchko was also recently honoured with the 2025 Eddie Smith Manufacturer of the Year Award.
According to the group, this new Italian site aims to reduce lead times, improve delivery speeds and enhance service levels across the EMEA region.
