Mercury Racing has announced a partnership with American motorsports champion Travis Pastrana. The collaboration was introduced with Pastrana testing Mercury Racing’s new high-performance outboard models at the company’s Lake X facility in Florida.
Pastrana is known for competing in a wide range of motorsports, including motocross, rally, Nascar and the X Games. He has also achieved success in offshore racing, winning the 2022 P1 Offshore World Championship with Steve Curtis in the Miss Geico powerboat.
At Lake X, Pastrana tested the 300 R model equipped with a 15-inch HD Conventional MidSection (HDCMS) and the 300 ROS offshore outboard, designed for competitive racing applications. During testing, he recorded speeds exceeding 100 mph.
“Pushing limits is what I’ve built my career on, and that’s exactly what Mercury Racing does with their engines,” Pastrana says. “Partnering with a brand that shares that same drive for performance, precision and innovation just makes sense.”
Mercury Racing says that the 300 ROS is designed for offshore competition teams, while the 300 R applies race-derived technology to performance boating. The company describes both models as offering high levels of power and handling intended for professional and recreational use.
